Rice Park

Rice park is bound by Market & Washington Streets on the East and West, and 5th & 4th Street on the North and South. Rice Park is surrounded by some of Saint Paul's most noticeable buildings, including Landmark Center, the Ordway, the Saint Paul Public Library, the Saint Paul Hotel, and the Lowry.  In addition to serving as the primary site for activities during the St. Paul Winter Carnival,

Rice Park is a focal point for visitors to the city with the Xcel Energy Center, Rivercentre, and the Science Museum of Minnesota within two blocks.  The land for Rice park was donated to the city in 1849 by Mr. Henry M. Rice.  In the same year, two other parks were donated to the City, Irvine Park and Smith Park (now Mears Park).
