Saint Paul Loft Directory

St. Paul has a wide variety of loft options available. We have broken them into two categories. Hard Lofts and Soft Lofts. The lofts represented in this directory, are located in Downtown St Paul.

Hard Lofts represent the true definition of the word "loft". meaning that the building is older, typically an old warehouse. The ceilings and ductwork are exposed, and normally bare concrete floors.  Another hallmark of a Hard Loft are large windows.

Soft Lofts are new buildings built to mimic the essence of a hard loft.  Typically new construction, but still have exposed ductwork and newly poured concrete floors are normally standard.

Chicago Great Western - 300's Kellogg Blvd. Rowhouse style with each unit having four levels.  Some of the units are businesses others work/live units.  Availability is very sparse.. Total units: 12             Average Price in 2006:  $370,000*

Fitzgerald Condos - 488 Wabasha Street. Old Shubert building, connected to the Fitzgerald Theater.  The building is just finishing up construction.  The Fitzgerald condos are smaller units with smaller price tags.  Total units: 40               Average price in 2006 $121,748*

Great Northern Lofts - 300 Wall Street/281 Kellogg Blvd. Once the headquarters for James J. Hill, this building started the conversion process in 2001.  The building features barrel vault ceilings and top-notch finishes. Total units: 65               Average price in 2006 $480,125*

Lowry Building - 350 Saint Peter Street. The Lowry Medical Arts building was converted in 04.  The building is located in a prime area of Downtown with restaurants like Pazzaluna & Sukura located on the first floor Total Units:  135          Average price in 2006: $249,878*

Market House - 289 East 5th Street. Market House was the pioneer building for Downtown, converted to lofts in the early 80's.  The building features a huge center atrium and a party room with a roof-top deck. Total units:  55             Average price in 2006: $202,725*
